چکیده

Abstract One of the factors that limits replacement fish meal (FM) and oil (FO) by plant ingredients in diets for marine fish, is their lack long chain-polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA). LC-PUFA are essential these species, which sufficient acyl desaturase 2 (Fads2) activity to synthesize them. Nutritional programing or use broodstock with a higher Fads2 could improve ability low FM FO diets. The aim this study was determine effect gilthead seabream inherently high fads2 gene expression nutritional rich rapeseed (RO) on progeny growth performance, liver morphology, biochemical composition selected genes. Sea bream juveniles (2.31± 0.01 g initial body weight, mean ± SD) obtained from either (H) (L) fed diet based RO were randomly distributed into 12 × 250 L tanks nutritionally challenged 45 days containing only 7.5% no FO. highest found diet, whereas lowest those diet. Juveniles showed significantly increased PUFA contents muscle. Replacement led hepatic 18:3n-6/18:2n-6 ratio reduction viscerosomatic index juveniles, hepatocyte size ghr-1/ghr-2 Overall, results significant trans-generational effects both type lipid metabolism performance juvenile

Self-selection of diets with different oil oxidation levels in gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

The present research looked at the ability of gilthead seabream to discriminate between two similar diets differing only in the extent of lipid oxidation. Six groups of 4 fish (254g initial wet weight) were allowed to select by means of self-feeders between two complete diets (34.5% casein + gelatin, 14.8% fish oil + soybean oil, 24.8% dextrin and 25.9% vitamins, minerals, filler and binder) wh...

Nutritional and hormonal control of lipolysis in isolated gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) adipocytes.

We examined the effects of diet composition and fasting on lipolysis of freshly isolated adipocytes from gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata). We also analyzed the effects of insulin, glucagon, and growth hormone (GH) in adipocytes isolated from fish fed with different diets. Basal lipolysis, measured as glycerol release, increased proportionally with cell concentration and time of incubation, whi...

Dorso-ventral skin characterization of the farmed fish gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

The skin is the first barrier of defence in fish, protecting against any external stressor and preserving the integrity and homeostasis of the fish body. The aim of this study was to characterise gilthead seabream skin by isolating cells and studying the cell cycle by flow cytometry, to study the skin histology by scanning electron microscopy and the transcription level of some immune-relevant ...

Life Cycle Assessment of Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata) Production in Offshore Fish Farms

Life cycle assessment is used in this study to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of producing gilthead seabream in an offshore sea farm exposed to storms in the Spanish Mediterranean Sea. The farming methods used can be considered as “basic” since no centralized or automatic food distribution system exists and there is no control system. This study aims to identify the main hotspots ...
